When I write about journaling on the blog, some people write and say they know they “should” keep a journal, but they find it impossible to keep as a discipline for a variety of reasons. Writing is not a problem for me; it’s as natural as breathing. My greatest joy and most easily kept spiritual practice is writing. Keeping my exercise regime and eating and tracking healthy food is a daily struggle, however.
Some people say that they just don’t know what to write about. It’s rare I need a prompt, but I know you can get daily thoughtful ones at Writer’s Digest. I also have books I recommend to the writing-challenged and writing groups I facilitate. I also keep a word bowl and a phrase bowl in my living room as prompts if all else fails. I also use various art and tarot decks for those who want to play.
Today's Writing Prompt at Writer’s Digest is: “You’ve won a shopping spree to your favorite store. What would you buy?”
I’m out of time right now to reply because I’m off to see my baby grandson and his daddy, my youngest son. The few things, right off the top of my head I’d buy would be—at the Apple Store and Zones, would be a new Mac G5 and peripherals, a new digital camera, PhotoShop 7 and Quark Express. No diamonds, Hummers, or designer clothes for me.
Where would you go and what would you get?
