When I was in my rheumatalogist's office this afternoon for a routine follow-up visit, I picked up a magazine I had never seen before-- Whole Living: Body + Soul. Dr. N. was on time so I didn't get to read in depth so I "borrowed" the magazine and will return it tomorrow, but I was very impressed. I was also impressed in the way he urged me to make some major body changes to improve my life.
Don't you just love synchronicity? Several things happened today that made me aware of mind, body and spirit, including Body + Soul, that is owned by Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia. Martha faced the music; the Phoenix rises from the ashes, so why can't I? The publisher of Body + Soul, Janesse T. Bruce, hooked me immediately when she wrote: "Life is change--it is as essential as breathing and sleeping. Small changes happen constantly in us, in our perspectives, and in the world around us, but big change often takes work to accept or to orchestrate. At Body + Soul our mission is to be your guide and inspiration for heartfelt personal changes, both large and small."
I feel as though I am on the cusp of some significant life changes, though I am intuiting this--and though these changes are hazy, as though I am looking at my life through translucent organza, I know that I must face my demons, sift illusion from reality, and then visualize the changes before I can make them happen. I also know that when change nudges harder and harder to be heard and is not recognized, the body will take emergency measures to make sure the changes do happen. I'd rather take charge before life takes charge of me.
Can any of you resonate with this?
