In my art and in my art journals, even SoulCollage®, I am drawn to women I call mysterious. I write, "Perhaps because day to day reality, although sacred, doesn't have the same shimmer as the unknowing."
Then I add at the bottom, "Or is it utter clarity?"
I know I am particularly drawn to the fiction of these women: Alice Hoffman, Louise Erdrich, Elizabeth Berg, Laura Esquival, Alice McDermott, Barbara Kingsolver, and Brunonia Baker, to name a few. But, as a genre, I don't tend to choose murder mysteries very often.
What kind of fiction do you like best? Are any of you drawn to mysterious women in art?
