One of Fran aka Redondowriter's Christmas customs is to force a red amaryllis to bloom each year inside the house around Christmas. This beauty is from the local Trader Joe's and she's magnificent. There's another whole bud opening on the opposite side which will probably be a little smaller than this one. Talk about sacred ordinary.
